Non-phosphor white LED
Now, this is interesting.
Most of you know that white LEDs aren't actually white. They are a blue LED with a phosphor blend applied to downconvert the blue light to green, yellow, and red, producing what we see as white light. Well, there have been some attempts to create a white LED that doesn't use phosphors.

Wow!
Well, look at that. There are actually people viewing my blog, and from around the world!. I'm famous *sniff*
Anyway. For those of you that are reading along, I will have another review coming up here soon, and hopefully some spectral data for a few LEDs and MH lamps posted up soon. I'm finishing up my test bench so I can start doing more repeatable assessments of various lights. I'll post some pictures up of what I use to get all this fun info mashed together too.
Don't forget to comment. Seems like you have to click on the header for the post to get to the comments box. I'll see if I can figure out how to change that. I'm sure I'll be changing things around a little on here as I go.

Well, seeing as Aquatraders is selling the 20" 4x18W T5HO fixture for the low price of $50, I had to see what the unit was all about.

My name is Clive Bentley, more commonly know as Evilc66 on many of the reef aquarium forums. I'm a lighting geek at heart, and hope to use this site as a place to share information about lighting systems and their use over a variety of aquariums.
As time progresses, I will be adding news about various lighting tecnologies and products, a few how-to's, and some in depth product reviews with some very detailed teardowns.
